The ground floor residence west of the city center was an urban residence in the 80’s with a typical typology of the large corridor that divided the house into many independent spaces. The new design proposal modifies its interior design in order to integrate the corridors in the new everyday spaces, the full exploitation of the dimensions of the space and its aesthetic upgrade. The main design goal was to create a modern and functional space with the personal footprint of the owners. The industrial character combined with retro elements dominated the design and implementation of the project. Materials such as wood, industrial brick, metal with natural wear technique and the predominant green color were applied. Structural elements of the space were revealed to incorporate the natural concrete in the material palette. In the common area of the kitchen and living room, a distinct separation is created by a wall construction made of metal, glass and concrete that maintains transparency and allows the penetration of light. Terrazzo was placed in the bathroom as a reference to the material that existed in the original flooring of the space and it was impossible for various reasons to preserve it. For the residence, the bathroom furniture and the basic wardrobe of the bedroom were designed, the morphology of which harmonizes with the space and the existing furniture.
